Speech-Language Pathologists

Dietrich Speech & Language Services, LLC is proud to provide each patient with a highly-skilled speech-language pathologist (SLP) who is experienced with a broad range of speech, language and feeding disorders. Prior to becoming part of our team at Dietrich Speech & Language Services, each SLP received extensive training and education both in the classroom and in the real world. In addition to possessing strong academic and practical clinical skills, our SLPs are gifted with enthusiastic, compassionate personalities and truly love what they do.

Each SLP holds a state license to practice speech-language pathology in South Carolina and is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the professional, scientific and credentialing organization for SLPs, audiologists and related scientists in the United States and internationally. Being "certified" means holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of Audiology (CCC-A) or Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). SLPs who have achieved the CCC (ASHA certification) have voluntarily met rigorous academic and professional standards, typically going beyond the minimum requirements for state licensure.

Our SLPs also actively engage in ongoing professional development to keep their certification and education current.

Kristen Lankford Dietrich, MS, CCC-SLP

Kristen grew up with her parents and younger brother in the wonderful small town of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Elon University in Elon, NC, Kristen moved to Charleston, South Carolina to pursue her dream of becoming a speech-language pathologist. In 2009, her dream was realized as she graduated from the Medical University of SC (MUSC) with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Following graduation from MUSC, Kristen worked in the Lowcountry for a couple of years with a talented team of occupational, physical and speech therapists in a pediatric clinic and in the home health setting.

Although they missed (and still do miss) their families who live out-of-state, Kristen and her husband Andrew both fell in love with Charleston and the people who live here. Andrew enjoys an exciting and challenging career as a private chef while Kristen relishes working with children and their families throughout the Lowcountry.

Knowing they would be happy establishing deeper roots in the area, Kristen opened Dietrich Speech & Language Services, LLC in August 2011. Kristen and Andrew welcomed a daughter to their family in the summer of 2016!

Lindsay W. Eaves, MA, CCC-SLP

Lindsay grew up in Lancaster, South Carolina.  In 2007, she graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Management and Marketing and a minor in Art Studio.  Following graduation, a friend admired her love for children and brought up the idea of Lindsay pursuing a career in Speech-Language Pathology.  Lindsay was excited about this wonderful idea and immediately began shadowing an SLP in various settings, loving every aspect of the field.

She soon moved to Charleston to be closer to family, friends and the water! Not long after settling in Mount Pleasant, SC, Lindsay earned a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from South Carolina State University in 2013. She married her husband, Chris, in the fall of 2016. They welcomed a daughter in the spring of 2018 and are expecting a son due in the summer of 2019!

During graduate school, Lindsay enjoyed working with children participating in the Extended School Year Program.  This program provides group and individual therapy services to school-aged children in the areas of expressive/receptive language, articulation, cognition and social skills.  Lindsay also participated in therapy sessions at internships at the Children's Rehabilitation Center in Hartsville, SC and at Belle Hall Elementary School in Mt. Pleasant.  She has diagnosed and implemented therapy to children with a variety of diagnoses including: Down syndrome, Autism, traumatic brain injury, voice, fluency, social, cognitive and hearing impairments.

Since graduation, Lindsay worked in a skilled nursing setting where she enjoyed collaborating with physical and occupational therapists involved in patient care. She evaluated and treated patients with dysphagia, voice, speech/language, cognitive and communication deficits.  While she loves working with adults, Lindsay’s true passion is helping children reach their maximum communication potential.

Lindsay joined our DSLS team in 2016 where she has been working with Lowcountry families ever since.
